Meet Karin.

Not only was Karin an amazing midwife to both my children's births, I've only just recently discovered that she is also an incredibly talented singer.

Karin is one half of Sleepywolf, a whimsical folky Raglan duo, with an incredibly magical voice.  But don't just take my word for it, have a little listen for yourself...

I felt so privelidged to have been asked to be Jessie & Kane's wedding photographer.  I'd met Jessie a few times before through a good friend of mine and liked her instantly.  Plus I knew she'd make a STUNNING bride... and I wasn't wrong there...

Jessie & Kane were married on the beautiful Whangaumu Beach in Tutukaka under a big old Pohutukawa tree.  The sun was shinging and the backdrop was stunning, you couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to marry your soulmate :)

The day started with Jessie & her bridesmaid (my friend) Caery at Seasons Hair & Beauty in Ngungaru, then it was off to Oceans Resort Hotel in Tutukaka to the girls hotel room to get ready..........

I was so impressed that Jessie did her own make up!  She such did a beautiful job...

Then it was off to the ceremony, where I found her gorgeous son Ryley scratching some artwork in the sand... so sweet!!

Then it was off to Matapouri Beach for some photos....

Then we ventured to the beach near the Tutukaka marina for some photos of Jessie & Kane.  A special place to the newlyweds because this is where they got engaged :)

Thank you Jessie & Kane for inviting me on your journey, it was such a beautiful day, your love was evident to everyone... It's as if for a moment the world stops and it's only about your love... Wishing you many many years of love, laughter, vivacity and fulfillment...

A few weeks ago I ventured over to Waihi Beach to photograph the beautiful beach wedding of Emma & Bradley.  They had hired out two houses right on the beach where they stayed, had their ceremony and reception!!  And what a stunning day.  The weather was definitely on their side, it was HOT.  Perfect weather for a perfect wedding with a stunning backdrop.

Just watching Juice TV while editing last weekends wedding (best part about working from home) and this song came on.  It's such a great feel good Summer song, I felt it needed to be shared on this rainy Summers day...

Last weekend it was off to Tirau to photograph the beautiful wedding of Kirsty and Ricky at The Red Barn.  Kirsty had done such an amazing job meticulously planning her wedding from Sydney.  I just colour scheme and details.

I started at The Karapiro Barn where the girls where getting all prettied up:

A few weeks ago I took a drive out to Huntlly to photograph the wedding of Waimiria & Michael at the stunning Green Cathedral.

I started with the girls getting ready.

A few weeks ago I photographed some very special friends of mine and their two girls.  Being good friends of mine I knew the photos were going to be pretty special - they have two beautiful, happy, super fun little girls - but the photos came out a whole lot better than I imagined, thanks to the awesome subjects :)

Where has the time gone? 

It feels like just yesterday that I was pregnant, wishing time would hurry along, feeling like there was no end to this pregnant tunnel my life seemed to be all consumed by.... 

And now she's 7 months old!! 

I can't believe how fast the time is going... maybe I'm more aware of my little girl growing up because there are no more babies on the Heasman horizon...  I feel like I haven't taken nearly enough photos of her and this scares me a little, you just can't get these moments back... ever...

So here's a little Indie-medley I took a few weeks ago, definitely one for the wall  :)

I'm starting a new segment on my blog where I photograph a Kiwi musician / artist & ask them a few fun questions... It's always a bit more interesting to find out a bit about someone than just look at photos I reckon...

Nick Raven came to Raglan a few weeks ago to play at the Yot Club and I got to do a bit of experimenting with some of my off camera lighting....

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

The ability to exsist in contentness and enjoy the simpliciy of this.

What is your greatest fear?

Im not to sure. I believe in flow. Whatever will be will be. Just let it be. Maybe not being able to do this. Loss of the ablity to chill.

What trait do you not like in yourself?

Im probably to judgemental of others.

What trait do you not like in others?

People being judgemental. Its hard to avoid in the kind of society we live in.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

Definately "bro" and "allgood"

What is your biggest regret?

I dont have any regrets as I always learn from lifes happenings and try to move forward.

When and where were you at your happiest?

Probably right now and all the time. Just living and loving.

What talent would you like to have?

I'd like to be able to surf really well.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Nothing to drastic. Im pretty happy with who i am.

If you could choose to come back as anything, what would it be?

Maybe a tree or a dog.

What is your most treasured possession?

My acoustic guitar, Wudric. We've been through so much together.

What is your dream occupation?

Musician? Im not sure. Whatever happens, living is a dream situation for me.

Where would you most like to live?

Where I live right now but with a beach close by. Oh and a mountain near.
